Dinner Nite.....

So last night we had Bourbon-Barbecued Steaks. Tasted pretty good actually. Used my favorite Bourbon Jack of course! Here is the recipe...

Bourbon-Barbecued Steaks

3-4 Servings

Marinade
1/2 cup bourbon
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steaks
3 Round Steaks (or any steak of your choice)
about 1 to 1 1/4 inches thick

Seasoning
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh Italian parsley

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Charring will occour because of the bourbon

Directions
  1. To make the marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk the marinade ingredients. Place the steaks in a large, plastic resealable bag and pour in the marinade. Press out all the air and seal the bag. Turn it several times to coat the meat. Place the bag in a bowl and refrigerate for 2 hours turning the bag occasionally.
  2. Allow the steaks to stand at room tempreature for 20-30 mins. before grilling. Remove the steaks from the bag and discharge the marinade. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Brush or spray both sides with the olive oil.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the paprika, parsley, salt, and peper. Press the seasonings into both sides of the meat. Grill over Direct High heat until cooked to how you like it. 8-10 minutes for medium-rare, turning once. After grilling let steaks rest on plate or cutting board for 3-5 mins.
